About MUJERES

M U J E R E S is PARA.MAR Dance Theatre’s first full-length ballet, choreographed by founder and director Stephanie Martinez and inspired by the Locas Mujeres poems of Chilean Nobel Laureate Gabriela Mistral.

A shifting terrain of myth, memory, and reflection, M U J E R E S is PARA.MAR’s most ambitious work to date — a ritual of endurance, fragmentation, and return that explores the many selves a woman carries, abandons, and reclaims across time.

Through evocative movement and an expansive visual landscape, the work embodies a search for identity, resilience, longing, and belonging.

Your support as an sponsor helps bring MUJERES fully to life onstage at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts at the University of Chicago, carry it forward through a multi-year national touring phase (2026–2029), and ultimately return the work to Chicago for a culminating capstone engagement — alongside community pop-up performances, accessible ticketing, and deep local engagement, particularly with Latino communities and women-centered organizations.

Together, this work strengthens both M U J E R E S and PARA.MAR’s broader mission to elevate diverse voices in contemporary ballet.

All tickets to the premiere and benefit performance of M U J E R E S are VIP. The performance will take place Saturday, April 18 at 7:00 PM in the Performance Hall at the Reva & David Logan Center for the Arts at the University of Chicago, located at 915 E. 60th Street. Free parking available in adjacent lot.

Sponsors at the $1,000+ level are invited to a pre-show Sponsor Circle at 5:00 PM in the Logan Center Penthouse, with light food and beverages served.
