About kiss.

This contemporary dance work is motivated by the core human need to be seen, to be heard, and to be honored. In kiss, we witness the dancers on the perilous journey we all take to find and sustain intimacy.

As a collective, we stumble searching for the sense of wholeness found in authentic connection. A delicate recipe for peace - I nourish myself, you nourish yourself, we nourish each other - Often only felt for a moment, before sliding back into obscurity.

“In that moment, I knew this was beyond making dance accessible. This was about making dance essential.”

“Diverse in ethnicity yet speaking the same movement language, Para.Mar flexed ballet technique that could go toe to toe with any of Chicago’s long-standing ballet companies—in socks—flaunting envious extensions and arabesques for days.”

“By incorporating intimate and rigorous partnering when so many of us forgot the importance of trust and touch coupled with the wave of community spirit infused throughout all aspects of the performance, I am happy to say “Kiss” was my best live dance experience for 2020.
